  • Sound managerial skill
  • Ability to work in team
  • Good writing, speaking and research skills both in Bangla and English
  • Proficient in MS Office

It works through its Head Office in Dhaka and 19 District-level Offices with an overall aim of reducing poverty, inequality and discrimination.
Position Description:
BLAST seeks a qualified and experienced Staff Lawyer for its Chittagong Unit. This position is under WEARS Project. The position of Staff Lawyer is required to ensure justice for women, men and children living in poverty or disadvantage or in marginalized communities, and to attain and uphold their human rights through legal aid including advice, awareness raising, mediation and litigation as needed, including necessary follow up
Position Responsibilities:
To interview the clients and record their application.
To check and maintain files, registers and case diary regarding cases as per guideline.
To scrutinize the case paper and analyze the merit of the case and as per guideline.
To appear before the court as required, particularly in family cases.
To conduct mediation meetings as and when necessary.
To issue letters regarding the cases to the panel lawyers.
To prepare and examine the legal service bill as per guideline.
To maintain regular contact with beneficiaries.
To maintain records of engaged panel lawyers?
Prepare monthly/quarterly/half yearly/yearly legal statements/reports regarding applications received, mediation, litigation and cases studies as per guidelines,
To conduct/organise/attend meetings, workshops, seminars and training courses.
To follow instructions of the Head Office and the Unit Coordinator.
To perform all other duties as and when required by the authority..
